Hey squad. You'll notice the newsletter is a little early this month due to the fact that Carrie and I are getting hitched this Saturday! We are going to honeymoon and take some time off. Thanks to all of you that have reached out to wish us the best. Here we go!

I am proud to announce that I go to Alamo Drafthouse so much that a server knows me by name now. This week I saw ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ and ‘Transformers One’ for some epic throwbacks. I am rooting for a Beetlejuice trifecta after this film. The same dry and silly humor as the original. And truly memorable performances by the cast additions of Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, and Willem Defoe. This movie kicks off spooky season in a big way for me. The juice is loose and so is my rating. 3.35/4.0.
‘Transformers One’ was so much fun. A truly solid origin story I didn’t even know I needed. Please give us a live action Transformers with a story this good next time around. 3.1/4.0.
Back at Alamo Drafthouse next week for ‘Batman: Mask of the Phantasm.’ Studio time soon, I’m antsy to talk about how ‘The Penguin’ is going to be my favorite show of 2024, and ‘Bad Monkey’ on Apple TV+ is not far behind. Go watch our latest episode with Team Jakey if you haven’t already.
