We send our love to Team Jakey who just last week lost a member of their family and a core part of the organization: Mike Otten. Since Jake’s passing in 2013, Mike has been an absolute beacon of hope, resolve, passion, love and caring that will forever be unmatched. In countless ways, Mike was their “rock”. Not just as an organization, but as a family. Read more here and support Team Jakey during this difficult time. The Gentleman Jakey Cornhole Tournament goes on September 21st, as Mike would have wanted. Sign up today here

Hey Squad. Happy Friday and happy almost September. First, looking back at August. What a month. We released our Deadpool & Wolverine episode, recorded with stars like Tim Convy and Randi Naughton, and for me personally, I started some exciting freelance work with a few groups. More to come!

Looking forward to next month, Carrie and I are officially less than a month away from our wedding! We are pumped, a hair stressed, but overall excited. It's the biggest event of our lives and were producing it together, which has been really fun, but of course way more time consuming than we could have imagined.

We have some amazing episodes coming up you won't want to miss. Thanks for tuning in and subscribing to our little show in a St. Louis basement. Love you, guys. Take care of yourselves and enjoy your life. See ya soon.

Life is busy, so today’s newsletter is coming from my car en route to my alma mater, University of Missouri - Columbia, for their college football opener vs. Murray State. MIZZOU is a magical place, currently ranked #11 in the country and potential College Football Playoff aspirations. The Tigers are hungry, and so am I. I predict a top ten finish this season.

Speaking of football, NFL season is here also. My fantasy football teams are drafted, dialed in, and ready for action. I hope yours are too. Team Mostly Superheroes faces off against Team Smashing Biscuits (The Biscuit Joint in St. Louis, MO) in week one. We’ll be 4-0 by the time September’s newsletter drops, take it to the bank. My Pittsburgh Steelers are primed to disappoint me again, this time with better QBs.

Mostly Sports is already a podcast at Barstool Sports, so let’s get back to the movies. This month I saw ‘Trap’ directed by M Night Shyamalan at Alamo Draft House. Josh Hartnett put this movie on his back with his creepy top tier performance. For such a basic premise, M Night pulls you along by a thread the whole movie with never ending suspense. Great cameo by my boy Kid Cudi as well. You can catch it streaming starting August 29th and it’s still in theaters. I'll give it a 3.3/4 on our rating scale.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for reading, listening, and supporting us. I really hope you’re all having as much fun as we are.

Hey everyone! Scotty Scoop here writing this newsletter update from the Atlanta Airport! Just landed and I'm headed to DragonCon for the Labor day weekend! August has been a great month, with lots of movies, great (Alien Romulus) and not so great (I'm looking at you Borderlands....). I saw Coheed and Cambria, Primus and Green Day in concert this month, and they were all fantastic!

Looking forward to the month of September and lots more to come for Mostly Superheroes!
