Happy New Year! Yes, it is too late to say it and yes, the newsletter is a week late. But here we are. Thank you for being here.

December was lovely. We released our Best of 2025 episode, it was so fun, check it out. And Christmas through New Years was our first full week off in over a year. The goal is to make that happen more than a few times in 2026.

If you are like me, this is the year to make it better. Which I am learning very quickly, means busier. And as I write this newsletter today, a week late, let me tell you, the list is strong. And having a list that is balanced (and organized) is more important now than ever.

This year we will have more meet ups, more events. and more podcasts than ever before, with episodes covering all the things we love: St. Louis, movies, tv, comics, community, fitness, and mental health. From Screen & Social Movie Screenings, to Comic Cons like 2 Rivers and GalaxyCon, to multiple Foodies Eat First Festivals and Team Jakey events, to interviews with celebrities, creators, regular people, civic leaders, and whoever else we can get into the studio; we plan on having a high-quality, balanced (and organized) program for you in 2026.

On the personal sharing side, doctors appointments are scheduled for the year, we are cooking at home 6 days a week, I am cutting back on the beers, we are aiming to walk 3 miles and workout at least 5 days a week, we are spending time with family and friends and jumping in to help where we can, and then resting in between it all. Okay so this first week, we only ended up walking 2 miles each day, but still pretty good, and these are just goals. These may just feel like cliche January goals, but that’s only because they are.

And in movies and tv: Stranger Things was beautiful. We are going to talk about it. The Pitt is back, we are pumped. Rewatching Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, peak TV. Carrie and I are seeing Avatar Fire & Ash, plus I am seeing Twin Peaks (yes the show!) at Alamo, and Anaconda, The Shining, and maybe Twilight! And I will be obsessing all year about Avengers: Doomsday hitting theaters this December 2026 with Avengers: Endgame Re-Releasing in September!

Thanks for all the support. It means a lot. How are you? Let us know on our website or call/text our studio phone at 754 CALL LOG. Take it easy!

Happy New Year to you all, my favorite people. It was a December to remember alright. I saw Anaconda, Avatar: Fire and Ash, and finally the Stranger Things finale at Alamo Drafthouse to bring in 2026.

My Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC North again and are one Aaron Rodgers ayahuasca trip away from a league leading seventh Super Bowl. I got my whole family Mostly Superheroes Christmas sweaters too, because they were on the NICE list...especially Stephanie.

In January, we have the most important football games of the year, my birthday, and a few more episodes coming your way. Until then, I'll be watching the Avengers: Doomsday trailers on repeat. Peace!

Happy New Year everyone, 2026 is here, but let's talk about December 2025.

Stranger Things season 5. They finally finished it nearly 10 years later. In my book, I'm satisfied. Can't wait to talk about it with the crew. Send us your thoughts!

Avatar: Fire and Ash. The third and....maybe final(?) installment of the Avatar franchise. More of what you've come to expect from these films. Amazing visuals. Great action. Long runtime. And an ending that could lead to more films. Or not, who knows. Either way Cameron has more material and has promised that if no other films are greenlit we will know what his plans were, in one way or another. Personally, I'm in for more.

The annual El Monstero Christmas show. The annual set of shows from legendary Pink Floyd cover band El Monstero is a must attend for me. The second show I've seen from them this year and it's as good as it's ever been. Mark, Jimmy, Bill and the rest of the gang do it like no one else and put on a SHOW. Can't wait to catch em again.

Avengers Doomsday teasers. With Avatar came the teasers for Dec 2026 next Avengers film. Short and to the point, at the time of writing this 3 have been officially released with a 4th being leaked. It's going to be a long wait, but over here at Mostly Superheroes, we're as amped as ever to see what's happening with this movie.

Well, that's about it for The Scoop this month, let us know how your December went, and what you're most looking forward to in 2026! Can't wait to talk about it all!

Is it really 2026 or is this some fever dream from the chronic cold/flu that has invaded St. Louis for the last month? Or maybe the "4th wall" has been completely dismantled and we're all living a part in Vecna's mind curse?! The clues are probably all there if you look hard enough. At least, that's what we've learned in the early days of 2026, thanks to the Stranger Things fanbase. Alas, I've jumped ahead... Let's talk December. The holidays were quite pleasant, but busy! Christmas and New year fell on the perfect days that felt like many were on 2-3 week vacations. My household was in constant flux of congestion, coughs, and runny noses, but we've emerged alive and well. Outside of the holiday's there was nothing major of note. Everyone received what they wanted, and for that I am thankful!

Regarding TV/Movies, for me, December was full of Stranger Things and Fall Out, with Stranger Things finale on New Years Eve. Talk about a controversial finale. Overall, I'm not upset. After all the theorizing I've come to my own conclusion on the reality of Stranger Things and I dig it. But I'll save that for a future podcast! Though, I will say one thing... Nancy is a greedy gunhog, and I'm being nice. 2025 gets a 3.9/4 for me. We'll see what 2026 has to offer.
