How busy was July? This newsletter is 9 days late. That’s how busy! Let’s recap.

YES, me and Andy interview all five SUPER TROOPER live on stage at DELMAR HALL. Can you even believe that? We still can’t. It was so cool.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day! It was perfect. No notes. Go see it!

Jules went to SDCC and told us about it! Listen to how he got robbed of entering Hall H along with many other angry fans!

X-Men ‘97 is weekly and it’s so good!

Avengers: Doomsday trailer dropped!

Team Jakey Fest is now next month!!

I also got the chance to work with musician Royce Thomas via my client and friend, Dr. Tom Wagner with Sunday Morning Cafe. That was just awesome. Listen to the podcast!

Carrie is living up to her name and carrying us. Her business is thriving, plus she is mixing in Team Jakey work. At the moment, I am looking for more work and some more consistent income so that we can get some balance in our lives and take some times off for gosh sakes. Okay soap box over. Thank you for letting me vent!

All is all live is good. Real good. August will be cray cray as well, mainly with Team Jakey Fest being 9/19! That is getting most of my time. Oh, and super pumped to also be at Foodies Eat First and Festival of Nations this month. So many FESTS!!

How are you? I hope well. Let us know by replying to this email or texting or calling 754 CALL LOG. Have a great month! Take it easy!

Hey squad. Hope you’re having great summers all around. July was packed with World Cup soccer, as much golf as I could play in 100 degree weather, and two of the best movies of 2026 so far - Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey.

And I cannot forget the highlight of the month - meeting the hilarious Broken Lizard boys behind Super Troopers (and my personal favorite Beerfest). Check out our interview with them if you’re interested in finding out how inflation has affected the cost of their famous ZJ’s, or if you would like to hear which city in the state of Missouri is the worst. My eyes finally got to see their new installment (and yes I had a liter of cola during my viewing) - Super Troopers 3: Farva’s Wedding. It’s exactly what I wanted as a member of the Broken Lizard cult, and almost as good as the 2001 cop comedy classic. These guys still know how to push the envelope and in turn, make my abs hurt from laughing for most of the movie. Check it out MEOW! I gave it a 3.5/4.0.

July was HOT. Literally and metaphorically speaking. Some of the biggest box office performances EVER!

The Odyssey came in with swords out and before it was even done Spiderman Brand New Day came swinging in with and even bigger performance in a single weekend! Movies are back!

Along with some other great films that shouldn't be missed like The Invite with Seth Rogan and Olivia Wilde and a screening I had just last week, Tony, a biopic on the the early life of Anthony Bourdain.

The outlook for the rest of summer looks to be okay with films like The Dog Stars, The End of Oak Street and of course Super Troopers 3!

I was able to knock out 4 great books this month, Hummingbird Salamander by Jeff Vandermeer, Red Rising by Pierce Brown, Priory of the Orange Tree by Smantha Shannon and by far my favorite and, as of now, a top 10, Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff. Think Castlevania meets Interview with the Vampire. What a book. Action, romance, mystery. Check it out if you get a chance!

Let us know how your July went, and what you're looking forward to in August! Scoop out!

This month was huge: I went to SDCC, saw Spider-Man, plus caught the first Doomsday trailer, X-Men ’97 and more. Which is why I am keeping this short, I am still catching up! Watch for a big newsletter update in August! Thanks for reading!

Hey All, Sammy the Sleeper here!

July absolutely flew by, and thankfully the pool actually got to do what it was built for this month... instead of just being an expensive backyard decoration.

We kicked things off with a July 3rd pool party, and it couldn't have gone much better. The weather was perfect, the company was even better, and the food and drinks were flowing all day long. Then we somehow managed to run it back at the end of the month for my birthday with another pool party that was an absolute banger. Friends, family, laughs... and somehow nobody got thrown into the deep end against their will (that I know of). Safe to say the pool earned its keep this July.

Mid-month we packed up and spent a week in Gulf Shores with my family and my in-laws. Beautiful beach, great memories... but five little kids running around all week? Let's just say I needed a vacation after the vacation. Parents out there know exactly what I'm talking about. If you saw me sleeping on the drive home, no you didn't.

July, while great, did have its downside. Upon our return from Alabama, we were greeted by our 8.5 year old Frenchie, Leo, suffering from a mysterious and very aggressive condition, that we now know was liver tumor/cancer. Sadly, the prognosis was not good, and we were forced to put our dear Leo down on July 23rd, comfortably by our side, in our home. He will now live forever in our backyard. You were a good dog Leo, and you will forever be the dog with the hog. RIP buddy.

On the Team Jakey front, Max, Logan and I recorded the second episode of the Team Jakey Podcast with the Rudloff twins as our guests of honor. They were absolutely hilarious and shared so many incredible stories while also offering a really meaningful perspective on grief and loss. It was one of those conversations that somehow had us laughing one minute and reflecting the next. Give it a listen wherever you get your podcasts!

July Snore Score – 0/4
