HAPPY June!

EVENTS AND GIVEAWAYS

Hear from the Hosts

June got here to soon. (Andy isn’t the only one that can do poems).

May flew by and it was classic spring and overall pretty damn good. Memorial Day weekend was a great slow down and summer has kicked off. You know thats true because St. Louis has weather has gone from pleasant to constant-dampness overnight. Pit stains are officially here to say until mid-November. Can’t wait to hear way too many people say, “you know it’s not the heat, it’s the humidity.” Yeah… NO SHIT, DALE!!!

It has been a week since I saw The Mandalorian & Grogu and I still think it was fun as hell. Watch Mando Season 3 finale before you go and everyone will have a good time. Also thanks to everyone that came out to our Screen & Social at Alamo and supported Team Jakey with their Charity on Tap with 4 Hands City Wide (going until the end of this month!).

We had Rob Keyes on from Screen Rant and I still can’t believe it! If you haven’t listened yet, please do. It is a great glimpse of the streaming and movie industry from an expert (and a fun dude).

This month brings Supergirl and Dexter: Resurrection. I am pumped.

My work as the Executive Director for The Team Jakey foundation is going great. I get to work with the community, events, and bridge the gap to mental health resources like 988. Right now, we are in full swing of planning and fundraising for Team Jakey Fest 9/19/2026. Early bird tickets are on sale and we are looking to secure sponsors, volunteers, raffles, cornhole teams, and more. Learn more and get involved at teamjakey.org.

Carrie is crushing it. Her design business is thriving, but man, she is too busy. It has been work or sleep for her for too long. So I am working hard to create more reliable and consistent sources of income so that we can get some balance back. Which brings me to my point: if you or someone you know is looking for support with promotions, podcasting, media, nonprofits, project management, technology support, or help finding the support you need, please reach out at logan@mostlysuperheroes.com, 754 CALL LOG, or reach out via this website!

And thank you to our patrons! Hope you enjoy those ad free early episodes. Your support means everything to me and the rest of the team. You can find more ways to support at mostlysuperheroes.com/support. Thanks for reading! Catch you at the next event or pod!

Stay tuned!

May is over, school is out and here at Mostly, its officially summer. May was packed with end of school activities, including a graduation! Congrats to Tegan, she's off into the real world!

Show wise and was able to get just four movies in the month, which I guess is decent. Billie Eilish, Obsession, Backrooms and The Mandolorian and Grogu. Invincible has wrapped and is still a top five watch. I haven't watched any of The Boys yet, the hype just wasn't there for me.

June looks to be jam packed with movies, at least two host b-days and hopefully, lots of great episodes. He-Man, Supergirl, Disclosure Day, Toy Story 5, The Death of Robinhood, Jackass 5 all in theaters this month, so you know thats where I'll be. See you there!

It’s the first of June and that means it’s a “Brand New Day’ to talk about comics, movies, and pop culture!

Speaking of “Brand New Day”, merchandising for Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already swinging into stores, giving fans their first look at designs that look…well, “amazing”. Join us as we break down the latest reveals and what they might tell us about Spidey’s next big-screen adventure.

We’re also bringing on some of last month’s hottest new comic releases hitting shelves, including Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #1, featuring Dan Slott’s latest wall-crawling adventure and the debut of the mysterious Dark Castle. We also dive into Doomquest #1, the new max series laying the groundwork for Doctor Doom’s next chapter, and Amazing Spider-man/Venom: Death Spiral - Body Count #1, a thrilling mystery that uncovers the dark history behind its killer.

Plus, we’re sharing our thoughts on the emotional series finale of HBO’s Euphoria. Did the show stick the landing? We’ll discuss the moments that left us reflecting long after the credits rolled.

Also, June is “Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month”. To all of the guys out there, be sure to be open and transparent about your mental health. Seek help if need be. Always reach out to your loved ones and hold them close. You matter!

Well April showers pretty much brought more showers for the month of May. The pool's open but most of its days were spent under clouds/rain, with a couple days over Memorial Day sprinkled in there with nice weather.

May was solid despite the weather -- We had the STL CITY SC game for Mental Health Day that a few Team Jakey members attended, we had Logan, Max and Jenna all hit the media circuit pretty hard with appearances on KMOV and STL Public Radio, then we had our annual Taps for Team Jakey Event at 4 Hands Brewery to start off our long Holiday weekend!  Taps was a great event with a great turnout! Thank you to the Photo Bus STL for being there as well as our live music with Maggie!

When it comes to TV/Movies, we're keeping up with Euphoria on HBO Max, and The Boys on Prime. The Boys finale is getting mixed reviews, but I thought it ended just fine, my only critique is I feel they nerfed Homelander's powers this season and especially in the final episode. Overall, I really enjoyed the series and would give it a 3.4/4. I'm hoping one night I can keep Missy up late enough so we can rent Project Hail Mary. It's a must watch! Catch ya in June.
