So long March and Happy April! It couldn’t be more spring in St. Louis. Opening Day happened. Thunderstorms and tornadoes. Ninety-degree days or snow every other day. But it also means flowers, spring cleaning, and new beginnings. Bring it on.

April brings even more awesome interviews and podcasts, but also means City Wide is the Charity on Tap at Alamo Drafthouse St. Louis for Team Jakey until June 30th, with our happy hour April 3rd, Trivia Bingo April 24th at 4 Hands, and preparing for Marvel’s Thunderbolts—see it with us May 10th at Alamo!
Lots happening and reminding myself—and you—that it is all about balance, slowing down, and taking care. Which means more yoga for me! Take care out there, and we’ll see you on the podcast and/or at one of our events!
Scoop! One-fourth of 2025 is already over. How is it moving so quickly?! We've seen so much happen in the first quarter already, it's hard to believe.
Two trivia bingos at 4Hands, a Screen and Social for Captain America: Brave New World. Invincible has come and gone. We talked to, and saw in concert, Gary Mullen and the Works: One Night of Queen (fantastic show!). Only had the opportunity for one movie screening, which was A Working Man, with Jason Statham. You can check my review on the socials for that if you're interested.
April is at our doorstep with several shows, including Sailor Moon live, another Trivia Bingo @4Hands, and Taps for Team Jakey. The cinema looks to be ramping up with a few interesting flicks like A Minecraft Movie, Sinners, The Accountant 2, Freaky Tales, and Warfare. Definitely a little something for everyone.
If comics are your thing, One World Under Doom is underway, and two new titles in DC's Absolute lineup have launched with The Flash and Martian Manhunter.
TV? Well, you should be halfway through D+'s new Daredevil: Born Again. Maybe try out Kevin Bacon's new Prime show dropping April 3rd called The Bondsman, where he plays a bounty hunter resurrected by the devil to round up some pesky demons.

Spring is here, and so is our March Newsletter. March Madness is coming to a close, and sadly, so have a few of my favorite shows. I just returned from a long weekend in Austin, TX, with Sam the Sleeper and friends yesterday and had a nice couch recovery binge. ‘Reacher’ on Prime Video had another jaw-dropping finale. Jack Reacher is a badass MF, and I am officially signing the petition for Alan Ritchson to be James Gunn’s new Batman.
‘White Lotus’ penultimate episode paved the way for another epic finale next week. I finished all the seasons of ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ on Hulu and have to say: Nandor, Nadja, Laszlo, Colin Robinson, and Guillermo might be my favorite group of characters in a sitcom in many years. These are NOT your average vampires, and that is why I can’t get enough of them.
What's up, guys? Sam the Sleeper here, really putting the "sleep" in sleeper while I write this. Just got back from a long weekend in Austin for a bachelor party. A great way to end the month, but now I'm limping from an apparent pulled muscle dropping it low at Buford's. Ahhh, the joys of being nearly 36.
But it's great to be back home with the wife and kids! This month, I was able to sit down on the podcast with Logan and Dave Glover from KMOX and the Dave Glover Show. He's an absolute pro and has been doing this a long time. Give that episode a listen—I promise it won't disappoint.
Team Jakey/Mostly Superheroes have some great events coming up in the near future! We'll be at Alamo Drafthouse on April 3rd to kick off Alamo's Charity on Tap, benefiting Team Jakey through June 30th. Come out and join us!
