Friday and the end of February. Bring on the sunshine and flowers, I am officially over snow! It was an awesome month. Thanks for coming back to the newsletter!

We hosted another Screen & Social at Alamo St. Louis. Fans came out and spun the prize wheel AND saw Captain America 4. Review coming soon. SO many thoughts on this movie.

I may have shared this before, but if not, then let me announce that I am now on the Board of Directors for Team Jakey. You friends of the podcast probably get it right away. If you are new to the show, please take a moment to learn all about Team Jakey and their amazing work. I am super honored and humbled to be invited to join the team and to support the mission! Much more to come.

Speaking of the future, come out and play TV & Trivia Bingo March 20th at 4 Hands Brewery Downtown St. Louis. More prizes. More trivia. More bingo.

Some TV recommendations: Severance Season 2 on AppleTV+, The White Lotus Season 3 on HBO MAX, Zero Day on Netflix, and Dexter: Original Sin on Showtime and Paramount+. Movie recommendation: Becky and The Wrath of Becky.

It has been a super busy few months. I am beyond excited for all to come, but also reminding myself to slow down and take care of my mental health. You do the same. We all deserve a break. Take care and we’ll see you on the next podcast episode! Thank you for the support!

Sup squad? What a month it has been. I announced my attendance to WrestleMania 2025 in Las Vegas. We attended a gala benefiting mental health with our friends at Team Jakey. I golfed for four days in Orlando and saw ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ at the Disney Springs AMC while on vacation and then again at our first Screen and Social event of 2025.

We are about to embark on the best year of movies since I can remember, so I’m forever thankful for my Alamo Drafthouse season pass to make this addiction more affordable. Have a good weekend, all - I’m looking forward to chatting about all of my appointment weekly TV soon: Severance, Invincible, Below Deck, Reacher, Pop Culture Jeopardy, Mythic Quest, and keeping up with the Peloton MCU rewatch. Peace!

What a month! Finally got to see The Incredible Hulk 2, I mean Captain America: Brave New World! And it was definitely a movie! Other than that, February has been a little slow as per usual. Saw Love Hurts in the theater, got to record with BradenSTL, we got to see someone other than the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, and lots of new teasers and trailers for movies like Thunderbolts, Fantastic Four, and Jurassic World!

Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man came and went, and we're now more than halfway through the third season of one of the best animated shows of all time, Invincible!

Looking forward to March, especially in theaters where we'll see Mickey 17, Black Bag, Novacaine, and Snow White. We have some new comics in the Absolute lineup dropping with The Flash and Martian Manhunter.

And who can forget the Devil of Hell's Kitchen making his return just next week with Daredevil: Born Again. What a time to be alive. Make sure you tune into the show to hear all about this and more on Mostly Superheroes!

What up, my people! It's Sam the Sleeper here, checking in from my lovely couch. February flew by, as if someone cut a couple of days off the month, but we still packed a ton in there! I got to sit down with Randi Naughton on her "More to Say" Podcast and talk about all things Team Jakey! She was an absolute pleasure to talk with, and I can't wait to listen to that one back when it releases in the near future.

Last week, I also got to attend Mostly Superheroes' Screen and Social, featuring "Captain America: Brave New World." No spoilers here, and while the event was a great hangout and turnout, the movie itself just fell flat for me. Those are some hard shoes to fill, replacing Steve Rogers as Captain America, and it just doesn't land for me, even though I love Anthony Mackie. The physics of this movie just pulled me out time and time again. How does Cap not have 200 broken bones by the end of this flick???

Lastly, Team Jakey's newly formed Board of Directors met last night for our first meeting of 2025. We're new and improved, and we have people involved who are going to help take us to the moon, and I can't wait! Upcoming events and partnerships will be announced soon! My Snooze Score for February, 0/4.
